About our practice
Whitebridge Medical Centre has been servicing the local community for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on providing high quality, collaborative and longitudinal care to our patients and their families.
Fees: We are a private billing practice. It is our goal to always provide high quality services to our patients. This includes booking 10-15 minute appointments as a standard consultation and 20-30 minutes for a long consultation (depending on the doctor you see). We do this to ensure we have the time to discuss and explore any issues you are having and to try to address all concerns.
The medicare rebate provided for General Practice consults does not adequately cover the costs involved in providing quality care. Universal bulk billing would result in a level of medical service we think is inadequate and as such there will be an out of pocket cost for the majority of consultations attended. Our fee schedule can be seen below
We are an appointment only practice and do not provide “walk in” appointments.
Some patients may be offered a reduced out of pocket rate due to personal circumstances (such as pensioners or healthcare card holders and children under 14 years).
**Please note that Dr Kathleen Wild does not offer a reduced fee for children**
Sometimes medical issues are unexpectedly more complicated than first thought and don’t fit in neatly in the standard pre-booked appointment time. If that happens and both you and the doctor agree to go past the initial booked time, you may be charged an "up to 25 minute" fee.
After hours: We no longer directly provide after hours consultations through the surgery. For all emergencies please contact 000. For other after hours requests you can contact GP access on 1300 130 147
Tests: If your doctor would like to speak with you about results of any tests performed our staff will contact you to make an appointment.
We encourage all patients to follow up with a discussion regarding their results regardless of whether they are normal or abnormal. These consultations may be face to face, via video or telephone and may even be through a chat on the Heidi app.
Home visits: We do not offer home visits as a part of our service. In the event that you are unable to access the practice we advise contacting our after hours provider (GP access) to discuss if a home visit from their service may be appropriate. Telehealth options are also available for patients who have been seen face to face by our clinicians in the last 12 months.
